Can one of these trees – slippery elm survive in zone 8 if given shade? Shade the western sun perhaps?

Hi Terry, Right, just the way you’re saying, these zone designations are malleable, especially on the top end. I have slippery elm in a zone 8. The ones in the sun do suffer and the ones in the shade do much better. richo

hi Melinda, I’m sorry that happened. In answer to your question we do have more of these going and will list them when sufficiently sized. Meanwhile I do recommend the slippery elm seed, which is in stock from the recent harvest. Richo
