Savory of Crete (Satureja thymbra), packet of 30 seeds

$2.95

Family: Mint (Lamiaceae)

Hardy to Zones 8 to 12, may be grown as a potted plant and brought in for the winter

Evergreen perennial native to the Mediterranean basin and a dominant plant on the island of Crete.  Low-lying bushes with large, pink flowers, highly aromatic and spicy, used in the culinary arts in the same way as summer savory, winter savory, and thyme (which it somewhat resembles).  Traditional usage (TWM):  External–analgesic and circulation stimulant.  Plant prefers full sun, a dry exposure, and fast-draining soil.  A mild, brief scarification on fine grit sandpaper may serve to increase germination rate and speed of emergence.  Sow seed on surface of warm soil and press in.  Keep warm, evenly moist and in the light until germination, which occurs in 1 to 3 weeks.  Individuate seedlings to their own pots and grow on until large enough to transplant to the garden or landscape.  Space plants 2 feet apart.

Packet of 30 seeds, Open-pollinated, Untreated, NO GMO's
