Persimmon, Wild Form (Diospyros virginiana) seeds, organic

$5.95$45.00

Family:  Ebony (Ebenaceae)

Hardy to Zones 4 to 8
Deciduous, dioecious tree to 60 feet, native to Eastern United States.  Fruits are best allowed to ripen to softness on tree before picking. Dried fruits taste like dates.  Traditional usage (American Indian, TWM): Diarrhea, internal bleeding. Plant prefers full sun and fast draining soil.  Seed is refrigerated and is best planted to cool shade immediately on receipt.  Germination can take months., and these are extremely dependable germinators–seeds planted fall to winter germinate reliably in the spring–one of the easiest.  Work up seedlings in deep pots to accommodate the taproot, then transplant to the landscape in second year.  Space trees 20 feet apart.

10 seeds per packet
100 g contains ~170 seeds

Hi Jane, Thanks for writing. If you double-click on the photo you get the monograph that tells you these are good from zones 4 to 8, so you’re in. Our persimmons bore well this year and we’re looking forward to harvesting them after frost and again offering the fresh seeds for sale. Hit “waitlist” and stay tuned. Richo
