(Huo-xiang, Korean Mint)  Herbaceous perennial native to China and Korea.  Upright purple racemes, a handsome cut flower and excellent for making sun tea.  Traditional usage (TCM): Carminative, antibacterial, flavoring.  Flowers to 4 feet tall.  Plant prefers rich soil and full sun to part shade, frequent watering.  Sow tiny seeds on surface, press in firmly and keep evenly moist and in the light until germination, which takes 1 to 2 weeks.  After second set of true leaves, thin or transplant to 1 to 2 feet apart.
