  1. Question

    Alison Garcia

Can this plant be used to treat pain? I was trying to understand how it is processed for what you stated it’s traditional use: poulticing
I’m healing from a severe car accident last July and one thing that has brought me a lot of joy is gardening. So I’m looking for unique plants and if this one has healing properties, I’m all about natural!

Herbalists mash plants up and apply to the skin–this is known as a poultice–probably the most respected of these is comfrey–other plants like life plants, chickweed, plantain, etc. are also used. Please check my book “Making Plant Medicine” for better instructions on poulticing.

hi casey, i’m not real aware of the brands out there because i mix my own. that could be done by anyone–the recipe is 50% fast-draining (white pumice and coarse, sharp sand) and 50% compost. i checked online and black gold (sungrow) has a mix that looks ok. always avoid fertilizers or chemicals in any of these things, go for just the straight goods. richo

      Hello Dennis,
At this time of year, it takes 2 to 3 weeks from your order date to ship your plants. You will receive tracking to your e-mail when the plants go out. That is because of large order volume–plants are shipped first-come-first-served. If you need plants shipped on a certain date, then please use the “order comments” field during checkout, and we will endeavor to meet your requirements.
