(Crispino) A crunchy and delectable head lettuce that has a higher heat-tolerance than most other types of head lettuce.  This variety is externally green and internally white.  Easy salad-makings, tasty and crisp.  Sow seed in cool garden conditions by barely covering with soil, tamping well and keeping evenly moist until germination.  Thin to 1 foot apart.

    Hi Richo,
    Do you Think these heads could withstand a transplant if I start them as plugs in trays? I’d prefer maximizing my yield by not having to thin.

      Hi Linea, Yes, lettuce can be started in plugs and transplanted when about 3 weeks old. Very fast growing, you probably want to start them around the last frost for your area. richo
