Kale, Winter Red (Brassica napus), packet of 200 seeds, organic

(Winter Red Kale)   Biennial.  This Ruso-Siberian red kale is very cold hardy and uniform.  It is more tender than most kales, and especially well suited for winter gardening, cloche and greenhouse culture.  The leaves turn redder as the weather gets colder!

Recipe for winter marinated kale:

2 large fistfulls winter red kale

1 Tablespoon Olive oil

Juice from 1 lemon

1/2 teaspoon summer savory herb, dried

1 small clove garlic, minced (optional)

Salt to taste

Directions:  Wash the Kale and slice up to a fine consistency.  Place Kale in a bowl, drizzle other ingredients over it, toss to incorporate ingredients, knead gently to break down the leaves a bit.  Cover and allow to sit and mellow for some time before serving. Feeds 4.
