Perennial dioecious vine native to tropical India, the female plant eventually producing drooping clusters of orange to red-colored drupes. This is a variable species. The leaves at the base of the plant may not resemble the leaves at the tip of the vine. However, the best identifying features are the presence of the heart-shaped leaf and the warty aerial roots. Traditional use (Ayurveda): Diarrhea, malarial fever, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, hepatitis, impotency, urinary and menstrual complaints, heart disease, parasites, diabetes, aphrodisiac. Plant prefers tropical part sun to shade. Trellis.
