(Wooly Foxglove, Greek Foxglove) Biennial native to eastern Europe. This is the foxglove species currently most widely used for production of cardiac glycosidal drugs (digitoxin). The flowers of this plant are stunning, cup shaped with a prominent lower lip, light brown with dark purple veins. Plant prefers full sun and dryish soils, and will self-seed. This is one of the most maintenance-free plants I know for the dryland herbalscape.
