Dong-ling-cao (Isodon rubescens), potted plant, organic
$8.50
Family: Mint (Lamiaceae)
Hardy to zone 8 to 11
(Blushred Rabdosia) Herbaceous perennial native to China. The crown is tough and clumping, not spreading. In zones 8 and 9, the plant acts like an herbaceous perennial. In zones 10 and 11, a woody perennial bush. The flowers are long-lasting and showy. The foliage emits the fragrance of basil and pine. Traditional usage (TCM): Breast cancer. Source of diterpenoic molecule oridonin. Plant prefers normal garden conditions, with sun and regular watering. These are pretty on a border and tend to size themselves well in potted culture. I have had them live for years in pots with little attention, also perennialize solidly and make sturdy bushes in outdoor culture. Space plants 3 feet apart.
Potted plant, certified organically grown
