(Alecost) Herbaceous perennial native to Europe and Asia.  Long, broad and resiny leaves support loose clusters of tiny, daisy-like flowers that emit a pleasant, balsamic fragrance. Old-world herb used as a spicy flavoring, ingredient for beer making.  Tradional use (TWM): stomachic, emmenagogue, headaches, strewing herb.   Plant preffers full sun and dryish soils.  Sow seed on surface of pot or flat or prepared garden bed and press in, then keep evenly moist and in the light until germ.  Work up in pots and transplant out after the plants are 6 inches tall or so.  Space plants 1 to 2 feet apart.

    Wonderful seeds! I had read that Costmary was really finicky to start from seed so I asked about that before ordering and was assured that that was due to seed quality depending on the source, not the plant itself, and that I should have no problem with the seed from Strictly Medicinal. It was true! The seeds have come up looking great, still seedlings at this point but I’m excited to watch them grow and hopefully make some ale and dry some of the leaves for bookmarks. As always from you, the seeds are of great quality! Thank you!!
