Chacruna, Broadleaf (Psychotria viridis) potted plant, organic
$40.00
Family: Madder (Rubiaceae)
Hardy to Zones 10 to 12.
(Samiruca) Tropical woody perennial native to South America. The madder family is also known as the coffee family, and indeed chacruna does resemble coffee, with its broad, glossy leaves, white flowers and red berries filled with a rock-hard seed. This plant does fine as a potted plant in greenhouse or sunroom. These tend to survive well through the winter when planted in gallon pots in a light window, with minimal watering, staying bright green, upright, solid and healthy. Plant prefers part shade, regular watering during the summer months and well-drained soil. Keep warm and in the light.
Potted plant, Certified Organically Grown
