Family:  Legume (Fabaceae)

Annual.  70 days to maturity.

(Missouri Wonder Pole Bean, French-type Snap Bean, Shell Bean)

This annual climbing bean is an heirloom cultivar that dates back to the 1930’s.  Making vigorous vines to 10 feet, we found them to produce well over a long period of time.  They were good when eaten young as snap beans and also made excellent green shell beans, which we cooked up like Limas.   Plant prefers full sun, rich soil and a trellis or corn stalks to climb upon.  In the spring, after the soil has truly warmed up, plant seeds 1 foot deep and 6 inches apart or in hills 7 seeds to a hill. Harvest the 6 inch long pods when thin and flat and stir-fry or steam.

20 seeds per packet, certified organically grown
