Family: Legume (Fabacea)

Annual.  55 days.

Probably the epitome of open-pollinated bush green beans, Blue Lake is fast to make beans and slow to make strings.  The most vigorous bean we’ve ever grown, germ took only 4 days in our trials and it seemed like every bean came up and prospered.  This particular bean is well known to produce sweet, round in cross section, blue-green beanpods, 6 to 7 inches long on a self-supporting bush to 15 inches tall.  Excellent choice for fresh harvest, market garden and home garden.  Solid texture makes them an excellent choice for freezing and canning, as well.  An old-time favorite that has never let us down.

30 seeds/pkt
~300 seeds per 100 g bag.

    Blue Lake bush beans

These are extremely hardy. They survived 40f temperatures (covered with a sheet) and produced many beans. They taste amazing and I canned and froze so many off just 6 plants.
