Aloe, Deltoid (Aloe deltoideodonta var. candicans), quart size plant

$31.00

Family: Asphodel (Asphodelacea)

Hardy to Zones 8 to 12, otherwise gainfully grown as a potted plant brought in for the winter.

(Deltoid Aloe) Perennial succulent native to the mountains of south-central Madagascar.  Light frosts may be tolerated, but for all practical purposes best to protect from frost.  One of the most elegant of all Aloes, the plant is distinguished by the fine parallel lines that seem to score the leaves as if they were candy, or glass.  Show plants do well in potted culture and low light situations.  Space plants 1 to 2 feet apart.

Potted plant is bare rooted for shipment

Forgive me if I’ve overlooked it, but what is the general size of this plant at time of purchase/shipment? Thanks!

      Hello Katie,
The general size would be 6 inch more or less. I try not to list sizes because plants change size continuously. In accordance with good horticultural practices, we upsize the pots as the plants grow. Most of our aloe stock is growing in 4 inch square pots, which actually I recommend for aloes, they require root constriction. Aloes are all bare-rooted before shipment and sent without a pot. We ship the biggest one first. That is our policy. The Deltoid aloes right now are nice 3-year-olds. I encourage you to order early, the biggest ones are quite large and the smallest ones are pretty small. Richo
