(Pheasant’s Eye) Perennial with showy, outsize yellow flowers rising to only 8 inches above the ferny foliage, native to central and Southern Europe.  Ancient medicinal containing cardiac glycosides akin to Digitalis, low-dose botanical.  Plant prefers well-drained soils in the sun.  Sow in rich soil, moist shade, in fall for germ in spring.
